track rod end

   can someone please help we are tryin to get the track rod end of to lower the car but the bolt on it its just spinnin the ball joint on the inside does any one know a way of getting this bolt off we tried using a bar and standing on it a clamp but no joy wen despratly need to get this off any help would be much appreciated cheers

   How about a big pair of grips, put the grips around the bottom of the thread and onto the top of the track rod end and get someone to undo the nut whilst your holding the grips tightly. Worked for me when i had to do it.

   tried that and tried it with a clamp put so much pressure on the clamp it bent

   Ok, have you sprayed it up well, obviously it has seized but just keep spraying it with maintanence spray and it should clean it up abit. Thats all i can suggest, only other option if it wont come off is to maybe try and weld the thread still then undo it. Just a thought, i would keep spraying it up first though, it will give

   tighten back up apply plenty of release oil w/d etc
   (make sure it dont go on taper) and undo slowly

   I used a large pair of mole grips. Had to have them on the largest opening. It was tough but it went in the end. It did take quite a few attempts!
