   alright everyone my gearbox went to day i cant selected 3rd gear i took it down garage he said the hub iz falling apart, you might have to get hub changed be bout £300 or the gearbox recoindtion that be £600 i was thinking is the best bet going to the breakers and trying to find a second hand one coz it be much cheaper. If i do find one im thinking bout puting a uprated clucth in it (EBC) coz if i buy the gearbox then the clucth goes, what would everyone else do jay Thanks again

   get a good box, from low mileage late saxo.
   Then Uprate clutch while your at it.

   im having problems gettin reverse with my gearbox, all other gears seem to be fine, was told this may be summit 2 do with the linkages wud this be true?? also do mk2 saxo gearboxes fit mk1 saxo engines?

   i had the same prob with selecting reverse, just changed the linkage and is fine now.

   with my gearbox it seems that everytime i change from 1st gear into 2nd i it wnt go in smoothly n when it does i hear and feel a quite clunk noise? what could this be. my saxo's gone into body shop 4 repairs after a drunk frend reversed into me.

   Sounds like the linkages are going or gone! if you can hear a rattleing sound at idle its prberly the thrust bearing going also.... new gear box sir! not worth th ££ on fixin it, well i think not anyway

   would the linkages be expensive then? i dnt hear no ratelling nosie when idle, its jsu the change from 1s gear into second when the cars moving thats the problem, apart from that the egarbox is gud.

   yeah sounds like the linkages... start to look for a nicle lil recond or scraped box! ask a mechanic to doubek check it tho!

   linkages are about £8 each from citroen (2 of them on the bottom) and the reverse linkage is a little bit more(top one)
   
   The EBC isnt that much uprated if any than the standard one id ask them the torque capacity before buying and compare it to the standard clutch.

    my gear box is really loose ie i can wiggle in when its in gear and it looks like its not in gear!what does this mean??
