   Ive got an early Mk2 when they still had the Phase 1 engine. Its got a Magnex system with a sports cat atm but the fit where the cat joins the centre pipe is really poor and keeps blowing, even after having it welded.
   
   Im thinking of getting the Supersprint race system which, if Im right, will de-cat my car. Just wondering what you guys do come MOT time?

   Change just it back over!, but be weary theres Quite a lot of Vosa around just do random checks, so best bet to keep your Sports Cat, but that means u cant get the supersprint i would of thourght.

   just get the supersprint, come MOT either change it or if you now them get them to wave it through. As for road side checks as long as your not ebing a twat your unlikely to get caught, dip the clutch whenever you go past old bill job sorted

   Much of what has been said really, I have NEVER heard of random checks until now and when MOT time comes around just become friendly with a Garage before hand. If you ask around your mates, someones bound to know someone..

   Well round hear, theres a Loads of VOSA Galaxy's and pulling people up. Got to be weary of it.

   i had to put the cat back on for my mot the other week, was gonna leave it on, until i drove it! so much less responsive and so much less roar! go lower if your worried about the police checking, then they shouldnt notice lol

    Thats what i always do. Had my car three year with decat and never had to take it off at mot he just keeps makin me buy him a pint everytime i see him at the pub lol.
