Fan problems

    Can anyone help? My fan doesn't kick in on my car which is causing it to overheat. I've tried linking the fan straight to the battery and it works fine. Can anyone suggest anything. Fuses are ok. Is it a two stage fan?

    Could be a fault with your temperature sensor mate. What engine is it on? Most are 2 stage fans

    Thought it would be two stage. Its off a Vts. There is a yellow relay which i took off at the bottom of the rad which was really corroded so i cleaned that up and put it back in but it still didnt seem to do anything. Is there any way of testing it without running the engine for about twenty minutes? Can you short out a sensor. Would it be the sensor in the rad or in the head?
