removing my power stearing

  1. #1
    Hi

i was thinking of removing my power stearing from my mk1 saxo VTR a friend at work has had it done to his peugeot 106 GTI. the reason i want to get it done is because my power stearing is on the way out and i dont want to get it fixed when i can have it taken out and i prefer not having power assisted stearing (dont ask why i just do). does anybody know whats involved in doing so?

    cheers

pretty sure i read somewhere you need to change steering rack or column to a non power steering one, not sure though mate. have a search

iirc you just udo the pump/pipes and then take the ram off and its as good as power steering, its only the ram that makes it heavy when pump not working

Whats the ram? My pumps failed and been like it for 2 months now i'm getting fucked off with it
