would the alloy rallye inlet manifold fit a mk2 vtr? if it would how hard would it be to fit and would there be any performance gains? cheers

#2Not unless you've changed the head on the engine. Rallye inlet will only fit the earlier port-spacing on the head (black top vtr or <2000 silver top).
-
#3how sure are you because i'm buying one for my VTR?
and he claims it's a straight fit except for the idle control valve -
#4they dont fit the 98bhp ones the port spacing is all wrong.
and many people are incapable of getting an engine running right with one aswell. -
#5About this sure;Quote:

(My VTR engine btw)
Straight fit on a <2000 8v head - other than the idle valve, the TPS wiring, the throttle cable and the fact you're 99% likely to need it mapped to work. -
#6What are the benefits of having that inlet manifold?
-
#7i thought the spacing was the same.
i thought it was just ecu,cat roller rockers that were different. -
#8does it need a remap ish when fitted to a black top engine? any gains apart from can be ported? any bhp gains?
-
#9from what ive read your best staying away, pain in arse and never get it running right
Listen to what Ryan has said. -
#10so it definately does not fit a 98bhp vtr?
-
#11no as i have said it has a different port spacing.
person selling if saying otherwise is a tard. -
#13I'd agree with this... bought an inlet manifold from a 1.6 8v 1999 engine and it most certainly doesn't fit my engine, which has different port spacing as it's a 2001 engine.
Anything pre-2000 has port spacing like this:
oo oo
And anything 2001> is like this:
o o o o
If that makes sense...
