    lights

    i got the gs motor sport lights for my rear number plate and was just wondering what amp wire i need to buy to get the full power or brightness from em. i got a 5amp wire roll from halfords but think the lights are 12 amp what amp wire do i need??

    5A wire will be fine.
    take power for these from the rear tail light power, then I earthed mine on the metal chassis behind the rear bumper.

    hey saxo al i didnt know i had 2 earth em i was just going 2 snip the connection attached 2 the old rear lights an wire the new ones up to em?? can i do thi s instead? or wont it work.

    It wont work like that chap.
    Think you will see that each light unit has 2 wires on them. One for power, one for earth.
    Power has to run in series, not just go to something then stop.
    hence why an earthing point (metal) is required.

    oh!!!

    ok so one wire to the red/live wire. and other to some metal? sorry iam a bit thick when it comes 2 electrics. will that then work with the side lights and stuff.

    yep, as soon as you flick the sidelights on, then the number plate lights will come on.



    Just the right amount of light on the plate

    EDIT > lol, doesn't look all that in the pic, but I can assure you they are more than adequete

    ps i had a look last night and going to take it from the left side rear light (cream wire number 2) tested it and it works on that one. al your a star......
