4 Paddle Clutch

  1. #1
    Hey,
Wondering if anyone can help me with clutches.

Basically i was on the 1/4 mile at crail everything running smoothly until mid run in third the clutch started slipping badly " a 5p 50p moment" so i slowed down started crawling put it in 5th gave it some beans and just revved.

But on the way home it was fine pulling as it should in every gear.

My mate and i came to the conclusion that , the clutch had overheated and when it cooled down wasnt slipping.

But im considering upgrading to a 4 paddle clutch.

But i cant seem to find any prices or where to get them from, tried Kam Racing and GMC but no luck.

Doesnt have to be a 4-Paddle clutch but one that can withstand a bit of a beating.

    Help appreciated

There was a couple of cheap techniclutch ones going on egay not so long ago. Might be worth a look, as nobody had bid on them when I checked.

is the car used on the road mostly?

If so then I would look at an organic clutch and possibly the uprated clutch cover.
We can supply helix clutches. Whereever you get one make sure its has a sprung clutch plate rather than a full off/on race one

Yes the Car is mostly for road use, but would like a stronger clutch to put the power down. Because the last time i was on the quarter mile it faded really bad, and not wanting it to happen again just wondering what choices i have.

If you go for a Helix, check the play when fitted on the splines. If it has play, fire it back to them.

Better off with the AP paddle plate, and a VTS cover.....

techni-clutch are good, i got an organic clutch off them for my rst, works great even with 18psi through it.
paddle clutches are jerky to set off with i believe?
organic would probs be ok for all but silly power.
