Rocker gasket

  1. #1
Hi guys just wondered what im doing wrong, i needed to do my tappets which i did and now sound fine. When i removed the rocker cover i found that the seal had a split so bought a new one. I fitted this last night and used a gasket sealent aswell but i still have a small leak from the side of the gasket. Any ideas or tips. Much rep coming your way!!!!!!

You dont need to use sealant aswell but i think that you may have over tightend the rocker cover if you have then you may have buckled it and will need a new one.
Sorry to be the possible bearer of bad news.

have you made sure its correctly positioned before popping it down on there and as above dont over tighten the bolts and no need for sealant tbh!

Just go by sight is the best option, keep the bolts even when tightening up, so do a bit of one bolt then move on and keep going around keeping the rocker cover even!

Try the above first, if not I have a brand new one for sale

Can't you use that instant gasket stuff from Halfords, £4.99 iirc. Leave for 10/20 mins to set, done.

instant gasket is a huge mistake i had that on my sump when i bought my car it pissed out oil like it was going out of fashion so dont use it, it does not last long.
