Alloys With A Different Colour Lip

Who has done this? Im doing my wheels Rover Stone Grey Metallic with a Yellow Lip/Rim.

What is the best way of doing this? i dont know what will be the best way of dividing the two colours as masking a circle could be difficult

    Any advice welcomed

you could jack up the front of the car so both front wheels are in the air, stick the car in first or second, jump out and start painting.

it may be a little dangerous but i dont think the wheels move that fast in first. just make sure the car is jacked up properly, handbrake is on and chock the wheels.

i would use axle stands that way lol

obviously. dont leave it on the jack. that would be dangerous.

If you are doing it that way, once the car is supported you should stick a jack under the wishbone at the bottom of the strut and raise the wheel back up a little. Otherwise the angle might be too much for the cv boots and they will tear.

Thats the most dangerous way i have heard of. Why not try rim tape mate

id go with rim tape o something similar! ive refurbed a lot of wheels now and thats the best way i rekon, or get the masking tape out

going to start sanding tomorrow and i think ill be masking off the slight rim lip as it should be easy with it being flat will keep you all updated
