How low can you go??

  1. #1
    hi guys n' gals....

so whats the lowest YOU would put your saxo??
Also how low is yours atm?? does it catch on speed bumps??
And finally, what is the recomemnded height for every day use??

    Thanks
  2. #2
Sure theres a thread liek this but i think people usually say 40mm for everyday
  3. #3
    Wrong forum section aswell.

You can go down like 120mm, but its very unpratical.

I wouldnt go past 50 myself.

Recommended height for everyday use would be 40mm.

o, sorry ....sooo 70mm how low is that on VTR alloys?? anyone got pics?? thanks
  5. #5
look in the correct section and theres a sticky about it iirc
  6. #6
Hai, cut teh springs or jus run it on standud shockz wiv no springz m8! Looks badass
  7. #7
40mm down is best for handling

60mm onwards is best for looks

so 50mm is a good height for both looks and handling

Mines 60mm on vts rims mate and doesn't catch.sits just right imo
  9. #9
my vts is down 55mm front 60mm rear. With standard body kit on it only caught on the biggest speed bumps. But i'd say 40mm is most practical for everyday use.

My old vtr was 60mm front and 95mm rear and caught on everything, as did my mates vts which was 90mm front 120 rear

where did your mate get his 90mm springs from a friend is looking to go that low
  11. #11
This is mine about 80mm at the front, catches the lower strut brace everywhere, not practical.

It's got chopped springs on at the moment so i'll be changing and going to around 60mm I think so I can drive how I like pretty much..

EDIT: On 15's btw but i'm on VTRs now.
  12. #12
    arent chopped springs really dangerous
  13. #13
chopped springs should never chop springs tbh

mines 60mm front 40mm rear(install brings it down at least another 10mm)

tbh im eventually gonna put it back up to about 35mm when i get a vts engine in and i turn track slag, 40 - 50 mm is the best for everyday driving
  14. #14
They are very dangerous, that's why i'd be changing them asap, not driving on the car atm, when it's on the road again they will be replaced with 60's like I say.
  15. #15
go 40mm kieron, thats if your track slagging it
  16. #16
I can't decide, on one hand I'd love to go euro but my car is more than abit....french and fally to bits but on the other hand, i've also love to go slag but I can't afford track days/proper track parts. I just don't know.
  17. #17
they dont cost that much you know mate, i mean FCS track time was like 20 quid for half an hour and watching them on it seemed ages

i may give you a ride in mine or let you drive to help you decide
  18. #18
mines down 45-50mm all round. on eibach sport springs no dampers/shocks, rides fine and looks good... dont think i would go much lower maybe 60mm lowest but would have to get shocks and dampers

are you some sort of asshole, driving your car round on chopped springs. have you any idea of the consequences

    and thats not 80mm anyway.

what is wrong with some people, springs cost £40 these days.
  20. #20
What is wrong with you? The car is off the road and getting new springs before it goes back on, which you would know if you had the time to read the thread instead of jumping at the chance of slating someone.

    Top points....asshole.

Springs for £40, eBay by any chance? No idea of the conseuences...I suppose I do buy my lexus lights and Neons from there too so it's all good.

im sure the threads called limbo time? or was it lowered saxos? the other thread to this i mean
  30. #30
i forgot about this thread lol, looks like someones having an aruguement lol...ive decided my next VT will be 50mm, no lower, that way i can still drive with out catching any thing and it being dangerous, and still looks da dogs bollocks what you think??
  31. #31
It's each to their own really. As I've said i'm going up as i'm sick of even just going down a road that isnt bumpy but changes transition quickly and it catching.
