OVERHEATING PROBLEM

   Im driving a 97 VTR and it's running at a very high temperature it's almost hitting the red on the gauge, could anyone give me any ideas with wats wrong?

   thermostat , or blocked rad/cooling system piping.

   you got water in the radiator? is it running that hot all the time? be careful as you can damage the head gasket/warp the head if you dont get it looked at.

   Yeah there's plenty water in it,
   
   it runs that hot when im going flat out if I ease down to bout 70-80 it's about 3 quarters on the gauge.
   
   I aint no mechanic so im just a bit paranoid.

   it should go upto the 3/4 mark then the fan kicks in and cools it down, if its doing this then thats normal and fine, if it hits the red and the light comes on thats not good and there is something wrong.
   
   Check thermostat is fine (try taking it out to check if thats the problem) also check condition of radiator and bleed the water system.
