Brakepads and Discs Repacing

  1. #1
Got my Saxo booked in for friday to have its brakes done.

My mums was done there for £179.97 for her 206.

This included 2 hours labour at £45, 1 Front brake pad at £30.18 and 2 front discs at £16.11 each.

Does this sound fair or should i book my saxo in another garage?

    Cheers.

Agrees ^^^^!! there will be a guide on here how to do it or buy a good old Haynes manual!! and the cash you'll save doing it youself, you might be able to upgrade them for better ones!!

Get some decent pads and disks and do it yourself

We've just ordered some brembo max grooved disks and some greenstuff pads, about £110 all together but these are for gti-6 brakes so more.

I'm sure someone off the forum close to you would do it for 50 quid mate!

If you really don't want to have a go yourself then ring a few more garages that hourly rate seems too high. You should be looking at a couple of hours labour at around £30-£35 per hour and for around £30-£35 you can pick up some Mintex discs and pads from someone like GSF car parts!! hope this helps!

you can do it yourself mate i had never changed discs or pads before as this my first car, went got the haynes manual had a quick look and did it myself and didnt take 2 hours to do, even had to drill the bolts that hold the discs on as they were seized and rounded

ur mum only had ONE front pad changed? thats weird unless ive read it wrong.
i paid 35 quid for my brembo discs, and 11 quid for a set of red dot pads and changed them myself. brake fluid was a few quid too.
not a hard job but unless you know what ur doing then you may as well jus pay a garage. also this is a good thing to try if u wanna leaern about cars.
