Liking or Hating Buckets?

  1. #1
Took out my Saxo VTR velour interior and fitted a pair of Cobra Monaco S seats and Sabelt 4 point harnesses..

Not sure if I really like having them or not.. After uprating all of the suspension and fitting the Powerflex bushes, getting back ache and numb ass after about 5 miles of Cornish roads.

I rarely drive the Saxo.. probably do about 2000 miles per year. Considering sticking the standard interior back in again, or whether just to put up with it..

Anyone else stripped there cars and now going back?

If they're adjustable buckets then stick with them... but I found the ones that are one-piece were fucking horrible. Messed up my back something rotten. Gotta have your head behind the B-pillar...

The Monaco S are not recliners.. they are a fixed bucket..

If you only drive 2,000 miles then I wouldn't worry too much in that case. Just stick with them and see if you form a more steely pair of buttocks, or whether you want your creature comforts back. I stuck my standard interior back in after I had to drive to Nottingham (400 mile round trip) with fixed buckets, did my fucking nut in.

Haha.. yeh.. I end up taking other halfs Astra everywhere instead.. Saxo lives in my garage comes out on show days..

So that basically means that the car's compromised for you? Fit the original seats back in!

id love reclining buckets in my baby but they cost a bit to much for me to be able to afford them they do look the bomb!!

i would definitely stick the old ones back in if its stopping you from wanting to drive it!

You can pick up sets for around £200 on eBay these days, at least we can...

Have a poke around, you might be surprised at what you find.

fixed buckets are fucking comfy better than standard spaxo seats!

fixed buckets are buckets, recliners are just seats designed and styled like a bucket seat...

    fixed or nothing!

i find the monaco s seats quite comfy until a really long journey comes along but my mate has had some square cushions made up that fit in the bottom of the seat trimmed in the same material and they stop you getting ass ache

its really a case of trying lots of seats at shows, and getting the one that fits you the best!
I find a decent fitting one piece bucket to be far more comfortable than any standard seat.

    the g/f loves them too

i can thoroughly recomment a trip up to demon tweeks for anyone wanting to get a set of buckets, they have so many on sale, just sit in each one and see which you prefer

I am definately liking the look of the Porsche GT3 style seat.. which one is that? Anything similar to that available in the Cobra range?

For me.. I live so far away from shows, big tune shops, etc.. Difficult to go and try things out.

indeed the best one is the one you fit it and you can hardly feel it. Just holds you snug (trying to avoid a 'fits like a glove' cliche)
