i have lowered my car and i am now catching the exhaust mount on the downpipe that bolts to the gear box, i have a 98 mk1 vtr and am sure the mk2's dont have it so can i cut it off? i am worried about it damaging the casing of the gearbox. thanks in advance.

#2how low have you gone??
-
#3not sure had to cut the bump stops down to less than half will go lower if i can sort this scraping out. got standard wheels with 195/40/14 tyres so you can imagine i would say at least 60mm

#4theres your problem then!
thats lower than 60 if you cut the stops
more like 80
and with the 40 profile on 14s
i guess your about 1 inch from the floor with the sideskirts of the car
tbh your not going to solve this by cutting a bracket off the exhaust
its a problem with going so low
