exhaust?

    Couldn't find the right section for this sorry.
    My exhaust decides to make a rattle about 4k revs, been i spain for 4months and dad noticed it while driving, he's had a quick look under it but can't find the source.
    Hasn't had time to jack it right up.
    I know Saxo standard exhausts are pretty shite, friend replaced it like 3x before going for sports.

    Whats the best place to look?
    Mods please move to right section if this is wrong.

    I haven't heard the noise, so it might be inside the exhaust, he's not exactly stupid when it comes to cars as well (i am).
    Tips would be greatly appreciated, as I plan on doing what I can over the next week to it.

    Sometimes when the cat is breaking up it can make a rattle sound, check to see if the rattle is up front, could also be heatshield loose vibrating, get underneath and check everything whilst someone revs it.

    No worries, if its at the back at least its probably not your cat.

    Jack it up and have a look underneath, could be spare wheel bracket vibrating or exhaust slightly touching something

    I have the exact same problem mate. I have been told it is the heatshield. Does anyone know how to solve it?

    on my senter section the baffles have colapsed inside and thats causing a rattling when i rev the car.

    the standard exhausts are shite anyway S/S all the way !

    p.s im sure you can just take the heatshields off... i just ripped mine oiff on my rover there like tin foil.
