whole in cat :( options please guys 02 vtr??

   i noticed yesterday that i have a whole in my downpie just under my cat on my saxo 2002 vtr
   i was thinking of getting a raceland 4-2-1 anyway but was woundering if i get that and then m-o-t time get a mk1 vtr centre section and cat will it pass?
   are both the cats the same strenth?
   or wnt the mk1 cat bring the emisions dwn enough?
   i carnt just put my manifold back on for m-o-t as its got a masive whole in it so what are my options??????
   
   also it must ave been like that since ive had the car so will the whole affect the performace of my car a great deal???? i take it it will afffect the mpg?

   mot too sure about the mpg but ive got to get a mk 1 cat as ive done what you are planning. should all fit together and pass the mot.

   cool did u notice the improvement in perforance when u put the 4-2-1 on?
   
   one other thing just checking do u have tell ur insrance bwt it also de-cating ur car or shud u not really do it lol
   
   i no it abit dodgy as it wnt pass mot i just thinking wot i shud say to insurance if they ask me wot i have done bwt the cat lol

   i got mine from kam racing, think it was about £120. havent really noticed any gains as the mid box has a 2 inch crack in it! im guessing that if you told your insurance then they would void it. without a cat it wont (techincally) pass an mot so it would be unroadworthy (im only guessing here). just tell them theres a cat in the system if they ask but be aware that if your in a prang or vosa stop you then you could be in a bit of trouble without a cat. most of the time they wont say anything about it if you just say there are exhaust modifications.

   A Mk1 exhaust and CAT will get you through an MOT. This question does get asked a lot so you could've searched.
   
   It can be a pain at MOT time (if you de-cat) but you do notice a difference when driving but dont expect a big one.
   
   I have a GMC manifold which so far (touch wood) I have had no problems with.

   cheers yeah i searched but every topic i read they just said put ur old manifold and cat back on mot time but in my case i carnt.
   sound ill get it orderd then and get it on this weekend hopefully.
