Showcages...

    Are they easy to fit??
Do you need to remove the back seats?
And do they come made (or slot into place), or is there welding involved?? thanks
  2. #2
show cages you can keep rear seats in from what ive seen

    bolt in id guess

why would you want a show cage tho? purely for show and not very safe if you have a crash

Its just for show lol, i think if i jus had buckets, then ill take the back seats out, i do think they look good if the outside of the car is done right just gauging my ideas for my new sax

Im after a showcage. I think they look smart. Suppose to be easy to fit mate 4 bolts seats stay
  5. #5
Yeah they just bolt on to were seat belts go and the rear ones iirc.

might as well just save for a full bolt in or weld in cage

has anyone got a pic of the omp show one as i want one of those but want to see what looks like in a sax, or any like six point full cages as want a cage with striped rear.

Thanks for a link, im not wanting to make my car into a track car, im just after the looks tbh, and an easy change if i want to go witha different theam, such as euro or jap

could go for a half cage from OMP or the likes.

Show cages are a danger IMO

proper cage or not at all.

you'll look like a bell end
  12. #12
Just get a rear cage if you dont want the full one. A lot safer than a show cage.

Fitted my showcage today. Had took it out because it looked tacky in the standard chrominess. Sprayed it gloss black.

They can be a bastard to get in now and then, Mine is like rigid for strength. Although in a crash it would do sweet f**k all.

But is quite easy, 4 bolts..

If it takes you more than a hour you should sell your car and buy a bus ticket.

True, cages are for track/fast road! Not show, would do more harm than good in a crash!

I'm another one that dislikes show cages, they should be there for a function.

You don't get show turbos do ya...

i had an accident in my old saxo, a pretty big one tbh, after flipping etc the only thing left in tact on the car was the showcage, roof was dented in etc but the cage was fine

imo they arent as dangerous as some people make out, although if i bought another cage it would be a proper cage

the chrome plating is brittle and prone to chipping. The right forces in an accident could be fatal

    looks nice though
