need help with maths - chequered roof

  1. #1
Today i am starting my chequered roof for the saxo but i am unsure on how many squares how will need to use.

i wish to have 4 squares in one row

the measurements are 134cm length and 85cm width for the roof.

    to work out the whole area i multiply 134cm x 85cm = 11390cm2

but to work out i need 4 squares in a row i divide 85cm by 4 to give me 21.25cm

and draw up a square which is 21.25cm long and 21.25cm wide.

    is this correct?
or am i missing something really obvious?

if you want to put 4 across the width, then yeah, they need to be 212mm square.

this will give you 4 across - you will then be able to get 6.3 squares along the length.

or you could just leave the roof as it is
