but i am unsure of the legalities(sp) when choosing a new font/ size

does anyone know the specifics?? (as i dont want to get pulled over by the police)
& does anyone know where a good place to get them made...?

All number plates are illegal except the standard ones you will have on and the ones on the right of this website

    oh right....
thought there were some that were legal...obviously not
this may be a stupid question but what can the police do if they pull you over with an illegal plate on your car...?

give you a ticket.. where you have to put ur old (legal) plates back on then, take your car to a registered MOT garage.. get them to stamp the ticket to verify that your plates are legal again, then you have send it off to say youve done it.. all within 2 weeks or face further action, like a fine and so on..

    it happend to me..

it all depends on the copper that pulls you, i got pulled several times with german plates on my polo and nothing was said about them, but i know alot of people that have been given on the spot fines and told to get them changed. ive never known anyone thats had to go and get a stamp from an mot station.

my old car i had 3d letters and saxo on the back ground and didnt get pulled for that and my personalised one is spaced slightly different (only talking 5mm), has 3d letters and saxo on the back ground again and ***touch wood***alls been ok with it - old car even made it through the MOT with it! Any good market place will make show plates for you.

Legally though, Its standard or nothing...

Its actually less of an offence to have no plates than to have illegal ones!
