Powdercoating Cam Covers Question

    Has anyone done this before? Just wondered how id go about this with the seal being built in?

    i dont have a vts so not sure but i thought i read that they dont have a rocker cover gasket effectively and you just by some gasket sealent? so couldnt you just powdercoat then put a new bead of gasket sealent on?

    There is a small seal around the covers you take off, just be carefull not to ruin it when taking the covers off and when there off the car just make sure to not disturb them and lay them on anything thats going to damage them.

    I took mine off and sprayed them up and was carefull and put them on ok and all is fine, no leaks at all.

    think youve completly missed the point, he wants to know if powder coating will damage the seal

    Not really as you wouldnt powder coat underneath would you.

    but when you powder coat you bake the paint on, if the seal on i cant see it with holding the temperatures, it may do, but personally i wouldnt as you cant buy another seal

    and i cant see how you could just peel the seal off and stick it back on

    tricky
