Colour coding wing mirrors: To sand or not to sand...

   Hi all, quick question based upon the above title;
   
   I have nearly finished my mirrors; have gone all through the other stages fine and will be posting a how to with piccys soon!
   
   But before I apply lacquer should I sand the paint using 1200 grit... or not!
   
   Help will be repped!

   no mate. last coat of paint shouldnt be sanded before laquer.

   id use 1500 grit or grey scotch m8, you wouldnt need to rub it down if you lacquered it straight away after your base coat lol

   technicaly you should only scotch it, but if you have dirt nibs in it hit it with 1500

   no i wouldnt and iv sprayed panel and ended up fine

   its best to scotch the painted area if the base coat has been left to harden over night, if you laquar as soon as base has cured tured to a (matt colour) it will be fine. its best to give a light scotch to stop the risk of flaking, but use a tak cloth and clean it before you apply laquar
