track look

right i have a 1,1 mk1 in white, and i am VTSing it very shortly as my head gasket has gone on my 1.1 engine and i dont see the point getting it changed if i can have a new engine.
I am thinking of really make it track and i currently have smoked jewels and will have smoked headlights shall i put these back to standard if making it look real track ??? and what else can i do bearing in mind it a flat arch

smoke the lights, bonnet raisers, bonnet pins, fully stripped (remove parcel shelf with speakers), buckets, momo steering wheel, harnesses, full cage, big 4 pot or gti 6 brakes, poly windows, these all look track but then you need to think of group n suspension with some stiff springs, uprated torsion bar 22mm?, get a 106gti arb the list is endless mate

If your putting the VTS lump in you need to uprate the brakes & change the speedo too.

    Steve.

why uprate the speedo? understandable about the brakes, but imo just rip a rear beam off of a vtr or s and just take the brakes too

yes 4 pots will cost a bomb. if there standard size discs then a whole upgrade would be needed. like a gti6 set or willword 4 pots if you have the dosh

i would just looking at them now, and exhuast systems going to get the exhuast and all the requiement first, as i would rather have brakes that would save my life rather than risk it

a standard 247 setup from a vts will do, and their cheap, or a 266 upgrade for £100 or so.. or go the whole hog and get gti6 ones 283mm they are a treat over standards and are more then enough for track use

also your brembos (im guess your talking about discs as you stated you need pads and calipers) are they not 3 stud versions?
