#2Do it yourself?
Whats point in modifying your car if your going to pay someone else to do it? -

#5Most retarded post of the day goes to...Quote:Do it yourself?

Seriously, what are you on about?
Not everyone can do everything they want doing themselves. Millions of people pay professional companies/individuals to carry out work because they simply don't have the ability or even the time to do it themselves. Especially spraying, it's extremely difficult get a professional finish without professional equipment. -
#6id say spray ureself mate
its easy enough i did my own bumper trims. im a novice at it -
#7im just sanding it down and primering it........ im not sure how many layers of primer i put on and when i get the silver mixed how many layers do i spray.........than when i laquar it how many coats of do i do............so confused............than when i attached it to the window...can i just tiger seal it to the window as i dont have the holes in my back window.....

#8thats y u sud leave it to the pros
i have my own bodyshop and c the amount of jobs i do were ppl have tryed it them selfs and if they give it to me to start it would be that expensive but since they have went along and tryed it them selfs and fucked it up i need to charge double coz i have to fix their mess up then do the job right
but 4 a spoiler to be painted and fitted i cant c it being any more that 80 sheets -
#9Mine was £95. That was to spray and fit. They had to bond it as you cant drill holes in the glass without it cracking
-
#10£95 ripped off spray it your self
-
#11a mate got his resprayed and fitted for £30 so thats ok im not getting mine fitted so it should be about £20 and il fit my myslef..................what stuff would i use to bond the spoiler to window?
-
#12good luck getting it sprayed for £20
£50-60 to spray it, £60-70 to spray and fit -
#13I'd get a bodyshop to pro spray it for you if you arn't up for it but it's dead easy to fit
I went into Homebase and asked for their strongest bonding, me and my mate fitted it, just glue it to the glass, hold it down for a few mins, put some masking tape to hold it in place and leave it on for a few hours -
#15£20 will barely cover the cost of materials so i doubt they would do a good job. they wont spend their time doing it properly for just £20.
-
#16ok i think il wait and save a bit more money up............i prefer you people on sax-p to give me advice before i go and make a mistake....... thanks to all replys...........i seen my mates spoiler and it dosent look laquered if you no what i mean its a bit shiney but not laquar shine...
-
#17tbh if you want a pro looking job go to a body shop, plus i didn't have the time to do it myself.
-
#18Do you have to bond it to the glass? Or is that because its a MK2 one? My MK1 one is bonded to the roof
-
#19Yeah its bonded to the glass mate, so it fits flush to the roof
