The breaks no matter in what weather conditions just instantly lock. I mean to the point where i have to drive at 20 because im scared of the wheels locking. any ideas how i can stop it? the pads and disks are perfect so im stumped.
Important! : Brakes dangerous !

#2mine is the same for some reason with harsh breaking the back wheels lock and i end up sliding, fun when in control, not so fun when not
-
#3how much grip are there on the tyres?
how hard are you pressing the pedal?
could also b the MC, but dont know how it could be. -
#5nope the car is standard, all tyres are perfect and i would say harsh braking but necessary stopping. Its like if someone steps out infront of me and i press the break it instantly locks the front end, i know people say pump the pedal but it should even be locking. if anything i think the bios is set all to the front end i know its mostly front end braking but............ ive no idea
-
#6I would say just take it too a garage if it that bad mate, not worth risking it tbh.
-
#7i had this with my car it turned out to be a snapped caliper bolt if i remember correctly, they just bit like hell no matter what you try to do,
-
#8if its a 1.4, it will have most braking on the front, since there is only disks on the front, and drums arnt all that good....
how hard are you pressing the pedel? tried slowly pressing it?
and in alot of cases, if its emergency stop, your going to lock up
-
#9tbh it sounds like a fault not really a driver error or std problem, to get them to lock as described takes some going, especially at 20mph, get them looked at for sure but it sounds exactly like what mine was doing,
-
#10the rear only does 10-15% of brakin so the difference between discs and drums when doing an emergency stop would not make much of a difference imo
-
#11u might need to bleed the brakes? the brake fuid line could be blocked aswell.

you say that but ive always had dums on back on all my other cars but this car my vtr has discs on back and under harsh braking that are crap that lock up which sends the back out and the the frount are still rolling.
its asif the back is doing more braking than the frount.
and ive had new tyres on and new brakes pads and discs all round.
is it just mine or are the brakes on a vtr crap? -
#13check to see if the pistons have retracted properly
whats the condition of the discs and pads?? -
#14take it to a garage
-
#15nope it aint jus you, just getten my VTR and the brakes are appaling. GTi6 conversion when some more money rolls in like.
