how effective is heatwrap at creating more BHP?

   how effective/how much bhp will wraping ehaust manifolds and back boxes etc with exhasut wrap create?

   you cant increase bhp.just reduce bhp loss.

   tah for that. but it sais in demon tweeks that it can increase bhp? in the professional motorsport catalouge?

   its a method of managing heat in the engine bay not really a bolt on bhp mod.
   
   Hot engine bays not only are bad for reliability but if the induction gets hot will be bad for performance. Dinga is right that you mostly don't see gains but it'll stop you loosing any.
   
   The exhaust gases should move faster out the exhaust and that may gain you a fraction extra power (I will be heatwraping the entire exhaust on my race car and will do a before / after comparism. Not expect much though.)

   when under bonnet temp gets real hot then you will lose a few horses.you cannot really gain horses by heat wrapping.if you thrash your car after half an hour you may lose a few bhp on an unwrapped manifold compared to a wrapped one.
