spraying my centre console, did my last coat of paint tues night, did laquer last night, and just noticed i had missed a bit, so just done more laquer now. do u think i can put it in tonight or shall i wait till tomorrow morning at about 10?

    thanks

Personally mate i'd leave it til tomorrow to give the lacquer a chance to harden. You will be kicking yourself if you accidentally touch it and ruin it, then you will have to start over again

yeh, spose its worth the wait
    cheers

i did mine and was eager to do it so ony left the lacquer for about a day and now its covered in finger prints

for something like that, which will be gettting alot of pressure applied when putting it on, you should let it haden for about a week

i paint things in work and dont bake them and some jobs are dry in 4 hours but then i am not using laqour out of a rattle tin

i guess as its interior part maybe not so long

i left my grill in an airing cupboard for a week and it was still tacky

the longer you leave it the better tbh

i think its rattle cans m8, when i use rattle cans i dry it off with a heat gun (very carfully) lol its never took longer than a few hours for me

if i touch it now its dry, and not tacky or anything. if its dry does that mean that i wont get fingerprint marks? also if i push it in holding the air vent which isnt sprayed it shud be ok right?

i would of painted it whilst it was a still a bit tacky mate

and i always leave things a good week as when your fitting consoles then finger imprints can be left in the soft paint, it takes a good week to harden naturally, baking obviously speeds things up

Id leave it til maybe Sunday if it was me tbh. Where did you buy your primer and stuff from? Also what colour primer did you use, im looking on halfords now and im not sure whether its best to go for a white since they havent really got my colour (im looking to do mine in blue btw)

i fitted it earlier and was fine erm i went to halfords, i did mine white, so i got white primer, im sure white wud be good..1 tip, do as many layers as it takes, i did 7 to get the finish i wanted, i did like 4 of primer and like 7 of paint
if u start doing layers to think then paint runs together and drops and then u have to sand that arear down and it sands down to black agen, then u have that area black and the rest coloured, so u do it think there to catch up and the same happens and you get into a cycle! be patient and do tonnes of thin layers
u can wait just like 1-2hrs in between each coat as long as u dont sand.
