Smoother gear changes

  1. #1
i hate how untidy and rough the gear changes are
takes some forcing to get it in haha

ive had a quickshift installed, which makes the throw shorter, but what can i do to make it smoother

price estimates will be nice too

    thanks

    what quick shift u got?

u thought of uprated gear linkages? rose jointed?

get some x sport gear linkages on there to tighten it up mate

you could look at the gear linkages. Certainly those would remove some of the play in the current setup.

the other thing to look at is engine mounts. Worn engine mounts affect the gear change as well sometimes.

    GE one

also get some stupid whirling sound in 4th gear alot of the time, and in other gears just not as often

are gear linkages expensive? and is it a diy job or more of a garage job?

    thanks

Xsport ones are £45 on eBay, well worth getting.

Ideally you need a ramp, to get underneath the car and fit them (easier)

Going by that, and the fact that you say its hard to select gears sometimes, it sounds to me as if they gearbox is starting to die.

most people fit them by just jacking up the car
