hiya ive got a 2001 saxo vtr and was just wunderin what you guys would recomend. money is not a problem i curently have a magnex cat back system and would like something that will give me good performance increase but also something that will fit correctly as my model has 2 lambda sensors and also where i can buy the product u recomend. Any suggestions will be much apreciated thanx again
what manifold would you recomend

#2If money is not a problem then there are two manifolds that stand out from the rest and thats the Supersprint and the Piper.
Both are very well made and easy to fit.
Raceland performs well but the finish is a little off and can need some mods to make it fit well.
Janspeed is also good but made from mild steel.
Worth having a browse of the forum and seeing peoples experiences with all of them -
#3are they both similar for increase in performance and what gains would i expect to see from a manifild. would the supersprint and piper cater for the 2 lambda sensors and also how loud would it make my exhaust as i have magnex cat bak on my vtr but dont have any filter just standard filter and airbox apreciate ur reply

#4supersprint are 4-2-1Quote:are they both similar for increase in performance and what gains would i expect to see from a manifild. would the supersprint and piper cater for the 2 lambda sensors and also how loud would it make my exhaust as i have magnex cat bak on my vtr but dont have any filter just standard filter and airbox apreciate ur reply
piper are 4-1
i think the 4-1 manis give more performance in higher gears
could be completely wrong though
neither are gonna make a huge difference -
#5with an otherwise standard engine all the aftermarket manifolds will get similar gains.
Regarding the 2nd lambda that will have to be put in a sleeve. All the manifolds have a fitting for the 1st one that detects the fuel / air mixture.
the 2nd lambda detects whether the cat is working so if you fit it the engine management light will go on. Sleeve it and tuck it out the way and you effectively trick it into working normally
Also don't get hung up on the peak bhp gains. There are equally important gains lower down on all the manifolds and improved throttle responce too! -
#6yeah your right about the 4-1 giving better gains at high gears, I have the piper 4-1 fitted to my vtr.
no oil filter moving needed which is good but only 1 hole for the first sensor so the second needs a sleeve from gmc motorsport for 12 quid to stop the ecu light from coming on.
worth doing in my opinion as de-cats mk2s as made mine sound nuts lol. -
#7as said above must have posted at same time lol
-
#8if i buy a manifold from kam racing either the piper or the supersprint will i also be supplied with the sleeve for the lambda sensor on the top of my manifold if so i think i will be purchasing thanx every1 for advice
-
#9Try gmc they do a very good manifold of there own..
-
#10I would go with piper mate ive got 2002 saxo vtr and when i fitted mine was very pleased with it.
-
#11raceland was good for the money, was a bitch to fit whilst wrapped though.
-
#12well thanx to every1 for your advice but i think im goin 2 go for the supersprint from kam racing so if any1 knows or any bad points with these manifolds it would be nice to be made aware of them such as clearance issues or fitting issues. just one last question is it worth heat wrapping the manifold or not. thanx again chaps apreciate the help
-
#13just read mikereay89 post must of poseted at the same time. what kind of exhaust note does the piper produce as i dont want sumthing that makes me look like a chav in a 1.0l corsa which just makes a shit load of noise.lol
-
#14I had a piper mani and full decat system on my old 16v. had a nice low deep sound at idle/ low speed but harder you went the louder more raspie it got. Was not over the top..

#15dboyvts omg that mani is stunning.lol bollox i dnt know which to get. but that piper is a gorjust piece of work. what are they like for delivery gmc as ive had something from kam racing before n couldnt fault there service. also would you heatwrap the manifold or not
-
#16John should have them off the shelf normally get things next day if he has them.. Yeh cant go wrong rapping it mate keeps temps down in engine bay. Only prob is you loose the look of the mani.
i rapped my btb mani as well as coated it with a ceramic paint..
