gauges ( rep given )

I have a air/fuel ratio gauge that I need to wire up. these are the instructions

1 Connect RED and WHITE wires from gauge to vehicle ignition

2 Connect BLACK wire from gauge to Battery (-)

3 Connect GREEN wire (AF signal) from gauge to either :

ECU pin which has the AF signal or to the Lambda sensor

    narrowband wire (0 - 1V)

so which colour wire is the narrow band wire from the lambda sensor on a mk2 (there are 4 wires)

and which wire is the ignition

dude i wouldnt bother. yerdusk had one, it was shit
  3. #3
im not gonna be using it for tuning or mapping the engine just for show really
  4. #4
and 1 other thing it wouldnt lock the immobiliser or ecu or anything by cutting into the ignition wire would it
  5. #5
get a multimeter on the wires mate, says it makes 1 volt by what you have wrote so get the engine running and look for the wire that puts out 1 volt

search the forums for past convo's on this subject and after looking for like half hour found 1 that says the narrowband is the black wire.
but still worried about cutting the ignition coz of the imobiliser

don't worry about reply's now selling the gauge in for sale section coz don't fancy messing around with my wiring as im dumb and will probly mess my car up.

for the ignition live i didnr wanna cut in to mine for thesame reasons as yours so i went off the ignition live to the radio
  9. #9
so you can just use the live wire from the radio, dint know that.
I might keep the gauge then if I dont have any interest on the for sale section.

no need to actually cut the wire, just strip some of the wire back and solder then the connection will not be lost.
  11. #11
just use a quick splice cotor, just snaps two wires together to make a connection
  12. #12
I was looking for some kinda connection block that does that but dont know wot they look like lol, u got a link for a pic of 1, just gave u rep

when i had mines. it was red/black - pos/neg. i took that from behind the sterio. the grey wire i had left on the gauge went to black wire on the lambda sensor.

yeh it goes pos, neg, and the black lambda sensor
