1,6vtr track car mods

  1. #1
Hi all im new to this but im building a track car and wold like to know what the rev limit should be on a 2001 1.6 8valve and how can i get this higher
  2. #2
std limit is 6250, no point in raising it unless the engine/ecu is modified.

what engine mods are you planning ?

u can get it higher with remap, but ir wont give you any more usable power

if it was gong to be a track car, id concentrate on suspension and weight reduction to start with.

as above spend more on suspension brakes, pads + good fluid something like 5.1 and weight reduction and tires!!
  4. #4
without cams and a remap there is no point in raising the rev limit.
  5. #5
Concentrate on boosting the torque and midrange before you start going for the top end power.

    as kam said tbh

the only real benefit you will get is that in shorter straights you can just keep revving rather than shift up then back down for a corner
and tbh unless your competing and that 0,000001 of a second counts i wouldnt
