How to fit quickshift

Right then, bought a quickshift gear kit and just trying to fit it i am abit stuck tho, i have managed to take it all apart i am just having troubles trying to get the white ball off the bottom of it, does this bit need to come off to fit the kit properly? If so how do you get it off??

when i fitted mine mate i used a screwdriver to prize the ball out of its socket, slid the gear linkage into the piece cut out of ur quickshift piece tighten up the nut and popped the ball back in. cant remember exactly as its a while ago i did it but its fairly straight forward, make sure you get the correct linkage by the way!! should be on the left hand side of the gear box as you lay looking up at it. and make sure the loom is out the way or tie wrapped up as mine was in the way a bit and was snaggin an made my gear changes a bit notchy til i realised.

Yer got it sorted took the hammer to it and just smashed it clean off, seems ok except i put the gear stick itself on the wrong way so my hand keeps catching on the dash DOH! never mind wil sort that out tomoz now..Cheers
