Strange Brake noise (kinda long read)

    Hey guys,

Well ill run through everything here as im REALLY puzzled!

Basicaly i bought some drilled discs and mintex pads a few month ago as my standard wer badly warped from the previous owner.

After fitting them there is a squeeking noise coming from the near side front, everytime you break its like an on-off-on-off squeek.

At first i thought it was because one of the drilled holes was a little risen up so thought id let it wear its way down.

Now due to that disc cracking ever so slightly i got a new set of front discs, from the same person, once again, they are drilled.

Fitted my new discs and its still squeeking and there was no marks on the pads from a possible risen up drilled hole, so thats my first idea of what it was out the window.

someone told me that it could be the pads are to hard for the discs, but if that was the case surley it would do it on the offside aswell.......

Is it possible for there to be a problem with the caliper for it to squeek??

You would think the new discs wer warped as its on off on off as if its missing then hitting etc.

Im really puzzled to what it can be but its doing my head in!

Basically the noise is like a squeeky door when you move it backwards and forwards but canny loud.

    Any ideas anyone???

Where would i put copper grease???

On the back of the pads when fitting into the caliper, this is a common problem!

also with the pads out you will see the locating parts of either end of the pad i.e the parts that sit in the carrier these are the bits that you copper grease and as welshy mentioned the back of the pad, but take a file to these shoulders as sometimes the paint can cause the pad to move unevenly causing squeal.

Hmmm i see, well looks like i have a job at the weekend !

Altho its in a garage on friday so might ask him to have a look at them at the same time, if he has time, if not ill giv it a shot!

Failing that is there anything else that could cause a problem??

brake dust is another issue so make sure you get right in there when you wash the car, mine squeal alot when they havent been washed. i would put my money on the lack of copper grease tho mate. Hope it gets sorted anyway.
