    would definately recommend it!!!!!

while your at it stick a nice cam in it and it would fly!
    be very revvy aswell

quite an in depth job though

the rallye inlet needs an air sensor.
so as long as you sort out the idle there should be no problems... but if youre takin the head off you may as well get a cam too mate....
    good luck too..

you dont need the complete head lad, just get the inlet mainifold, there is nothing specail about the head its self, the 1.3 rallye cam will not help you much in a vtr,

id say get the rallye inlet and find a nice fat cam too, or get the vtr one reprofiled

and how do you expect him to fit it to his head when the 98bhp vtr engine has totally different inlet port spacings?

the rallye heads also have mild head work and a slightly increase cam size of the vtr engines hence they made more power

put the head on and if he has the loom and ecu run it on that too and you will have a 1.6 8v rallye engine running a s1 inlet
if you dont run s1 management you will have a few issues to sort with the s1 inlet as there quite tricky without a remap to get ideling and running spot on

will go like stink and even more so if you upgrade the cam too

my mate ran a s1 head and inlet on a s2 rallye bottom end with s1 management and loom and it made 124bhp and sounded awesome from 5k onwards

cheers fella's, so all ive got to do swap the heads over which ill get my mate to do, he should know what hes doin bein a citroen mechanic. Then ill get the ecu and ill have to find a decent garage to tune because i dont think he will be capable of that. i will most probably put some performance cams in before i take it to the tuners.

So with the rallye head and inlet,ecu,cams,421mani.decat exhaust what sort of power will i be looking at ? will it be simler to vts, valver and redtop corsa's.

Also what gearbox would be best for this setup im guessing rallye but there quite rare but isnt the 1.4 xsi simler ?

cheers for the replys so far fellas i appreciate it !

s1 ecu is a single plug and your car is a 3plug. i wouldnt even bother trying mate, you'll have loads of hassel trying to get it to run imo.

oh ok so basically i might aswell forget it then, if i got my vtr head cammed and then had my inlet manifold port n polished (if thats possible) would that match having the s1 head and inlet and give the same performance ?

i would be happy with a 130bhp engine thats really revy and revs high, and matches vts's,valvers etc. i dont really want to change the engine . what do you guys suggest ?

if you put the s2 rallye head on with a s1 1 rallye inlet with s1 rallye engine loom and ecu it will run fine

and you will get about 124bhp from it power wise and an awesome induction noise

sorry to hijack but will VTR aftermarket cams fit the rallye head?

which wont matter so long as he runs a s1 inlet on s1 management and engine loom

only thing that would need to be rewired is the multiplug so it mates with his car loom

easiest way to do it and the way id recomend is to just run a s2 rallye head and inlet as that way it will be easier to do tbh and cheaper than paying for your head to have head work done

    alternativly

    285 cam
    uprated valve springs
    adjustable pulley
and a remap will see you will a seriuosly quick 8v
