Coil pack on a vts......

Would the symptons be the same as with a VTR?? Engine management light coming on on the dash and car feeling spluttery and revs about to die when pulling away??

1 of the members of the gym came in earlier with her VTS and said of these symptons and i said i would find out for her.

Is it as easy on the VTS as on the VTR to change??

coil pack doesnt make light come on the dash cos its not a sensor, ecu cant monitor it, probs something else.

i had the exact problem last week, got it sorted easy peasy now the car runs perfectly

a dodgy coilpack may not read on ECU, but the after effects of what a faulty one could cause, would.
ie: erratic idle, would effectively be 'sensed' would it not ??

no like I said a coil pack cannot be sensed by the ecu, it might however cause the lambda control to go funny so the car injects less fuel trying to compensate for the lack of spark which eventually gets to a sensor showing the wrong value but it wouldnt necessarily point to the coil pack, could be the lambda playing up.

But if you think its that then by all means change it, if its not then id look at lambda or TPS

Ok, jus got off the phone to shitreon who quoted me £230 for the coil pack!!!!!!!! Is this right or are they having a laugh??????

When i gt mine for a vtr it was £90!!!!!!! There cant be that much difference can there?? Thats £140 difference

sounds about right mate at my local dealer the vtr 1 is around 75 quid n theres 2 for a vts 1 at 130 quid n 1 at 250 quid
