Rear Windows Tinting?

  1. #1
    Hi Guys,

I have a white Saxo and thinking of tinting the 3 rear windows. Do you think it will look good? Also how hard is it and is it something you can do it yourself?

What should i buy and if it is something i can do it myself?

I personally don't think it looks good...
You can do it yourself, but you've gotta be real careful, and make sure theres no wind or dust or anything about, as it increases chances of getting bubbles in the tint film. You can buy the film off places like ebay or local car shops.
But if you wanna do it, then I'd suggest getting it done properly.

It is something you can do yourself. you can get kits from places like ebay and essex racing etc. From personal experience they can look shit if done yourself. Best to pay for a professional job imo.

If i was going to tint my windows i'd prob. do the front as well. Very light tint all around can look pretty decent. Like Mike Cracknells old car "suki". It is illegal to tint the fronts though i haven't heard of anyone getting in trouble.

True the rear windows tinted only do not look as good as the whole car but in Malta if you tint the whole windows you will fail the VRT Test and police then to sratch your windows so you will be forced to remove them! :@

I guess i will be giving up on this styling option then. Thanks for your feedback guys!

Couldn't agree more tbh. The diy kits off ebay etc are very poor quality film and scratch very easily. Rear side windows on a saxo are not too hard as they come out of the car easily, but rears can be an arse and easy to crease or get bubbles. No comparison between diy and professional job imo.

Fronts are illegal and police round here enforce their removal if they catch you with tints on the front. They tried doing my brother a while back even though his tints were not dark at all (light blue in fact).

Not even a slight tint in Malta! Unless it is default by factory. Infact i think that the Saxo windows are a very little tinted. Am i right? They seem a little darker then normal windows to me.

Think most car windows come with a slight tint but yes, saxo windows have a slight green tint (about 5% iirc)
