co2 emissions failing mot test

anyone know of what (if anything) is the major controller/contributor of the co2 emissions?

just failed my mot cause my co2 emissions are currently

    at 2739rpm
    0.97%

    at 2879rpm
    0.82%

the max limit on both is 0.3%...

lamba sensor is main culprit ,also do a fresh oil change and give a good run(thrash)
    before retest normaly cures it

Sounds like the lambda to me. the ecu light isnt on is it? When the lambda went on my VTR it ran so rich that petrol came out the end of the exhaust.

on one of ma old vtr's i had it de-cat'd.. had a chat to the tester and he took the emisisons test of another car for a extra 20£, good deal i thought.

Saw that happen at an mot station before, a de-catted Saxo was going in, so the tester used a brand new, 1 month old, Punto. It failed LOL

    haha!

a lamba problem did cross my mind but the emissions are only failing on the co2 levels, nothing else my engine oil is only a bit above the minimum level but dont wana fill it up since i'm getting an engine conversion done in a week

have just had a magnex cat back put on (i know this isn't going to solve the problem but hey ) but thinking of getting a new cat as a while back, i was burning a lot of oil. changed my rocker gover gasket and this seems to have sorted that problem but i may have damaged the cat me thinks

had the same problem about a week ago ended up needing a new lambda sensor and resetting the ecu.

mine failed emissions by around the same amount and I just had a new cat fitted the week b4 as it was de-catted. Not sure what he did but he plugged a hand held computer in, dint see where but assume into the ecu and messed around for a few minutes and problem solved.
