vts/gti ph1 cam choice? modified engine

    i got a gti engine, with 4-1 manifold, exhaust system and throttle bodies mapped on a emerald ecu.

    running 147 bhp.

    now i want some cams which will give me alot of power, i know the 708's or ph3 newman cams would be good choice.

    but what about 808's?? (that a cam) or a more wilder cam to get that little bit more out of the engine.

    it doesn't matter if i need uprated parts as i plan to get the head worked on to get every bit of power out of her.

    let me know what you'd choose

    Lol just a bit of difference.

    If you just want a set of cams without going high comps/solid lifters then 708s have seen near 170bhp with bodies.

    If you got the cash then you can fit high comp pistons (£500) with catcam 734s, you keep hydraulic lifters but can still see 180bhp, with a qep head (£1000) 190bhp may be possible.

    If you have a spare 4-5k you could go for H section forged rods, high comps, awesome head, solid lifters, mental cams and push the 200bhp barrier.

    Just remember your going need to a half decent box with what ever you go for. Quaife ones go for about £3300 i think
