Work order??

Rite, im planning on getting a 306HDi when i can drive again... so 2ltr turbo diesel..
Im wanting to get a front mounted intercooler on it, and a remap to get extra power that the standard map doesnt give.

So what order would i need to do this??

Would i need to take it to a bodyshop first to get the intercooler mounted to the front bumper?? i was thinking..

    1. Intercooler Mounting in body shop
    2. Specialists to plumb the intercooler in
    3. Get the car fully remapped to run at its best

or should i get a remap, then buy the intercooler when i can?

also anyone else got any ideas that could add to the car that arnt hugely expensive?

Always leave a remap until last... then all mods can be tied neatly together.

With a bit of work you can install the intercooler yourself, shouldn't be too hard as Peugeot already made an intercooled 2.0 HDi engine

Just basically take the lead from that, there's a guy on our 206 website who is in the process of finishing up his intercooler... had a good look when I was in Buxton last week, it's an impressive job.

    Get a dump valve too
  8. #8
dont bother with a dump valve
    dont bother with an intercooler.

Just remap.. it'll be fine like that and won't cost the earth.

oh and glenn you can get a remap done anywhere.... avoid the tuning 'boxes'... you need a live remap done on a rolling road then fine chooned on the road itself. pay for bollocks, get bollocks.

Dump valve will be just for the sound, it wont improve anything or give any power.

i know what a dump valve does and Ad, i will only ever get something remapped where it will be on a RR then someone sat in the car with a laptop after sorting little niggles, has to be done proply

and intercoolers look the dogs gonads, so has to be done

Now I know there are some variants from the PSA group that have an Intercooler and have NOT.
If the 2.0hdi does have one... I really wouldn't bother 'upgrading'
if it doesn't have one, then I probably would stick one in tbf then remap
They don't look that good, they imply you have a mint car, and you won't. you'll have a 306 with a diesel engine in it.

Remaps a good idea, not sure i'd bother with the IC, definately wouldn't bother with the DV on a deisel.
