Engine Styling

I am going to be doing some work on my grubby engine.. Such as refurbishing rocker cover etc. Just wondering if those hose kits are look any good or whether they look tacky? ive seen pictures of them on ebay but never actually on a car. I am thinking of having a blue theme, anybody have any pictures of what they look like on a saxo?

ace.. yeah i think im going to buy the chrome covers - they do look pretty sweet - seen some from a company called "BADASS" on ebay - look pretty sweet.

Anyone know if the hose kits look any good?
  4. #4
My bay is done in chrome if you want to see some pictures just pm me.

Hose kits look nice but provide very little benefit in my opinion. If you want your engine bay to look nice, you can try and tidy all the wires away, maybe install a grounding kit, buy some hoses... don't get Samco as they're rip-off prices... paint your rocker cover, buy a nice polished manifold cover, or get a stainless steel manifold and take the manifold cover off. Induction kit always looks good. Polish up your ECU maybe? Strange, but it looks funky.

  21. #21
looks very clean mate, thats how i now want my vts engine to look, what did you use to spray the rocker cover and did you use some sort of silicone spray to buff up the covers?
  22. #22

  23. #23
its just normal paint on the cam covers mate

the black bits have had all kind on, wd40, ag sillicone spray, ag bumper care lol
  24. #24

  27. #27
all the bays posted here look sweet!!! how do you get the actual engine looking so clean in the first place???
  28. #28
alot of hard work and effort,if its really dirty you can start off by jet washing the engine bay, then use silicone or back to black to make the covers shine and just get into every gap and clean it.
  29. #29
Where do you buy the chrome rocker covers and how much?
  30. #30
use to be a company called s-link but think they dont exist any more, other comanys do them,do a search, was a guy on here that did it if you sent him a rocker cover he would di it but cant remember who, sorry, again just do a search.
  31. #31
where is a cheap place to get these covers?? there are none on ebay atm...websites????

    thanks
  32. #32
spec-r.co.uk badass demontweaks use to sell them but they were fairly expensive, just search a round mate.
  33. #33
you just popped your bonnet and jetwashed your engine=S
  34. #34
yes mate, loads of people do it but you got to cover your battery else might not start but i just kept engine running, cant do it for ages, just a quick blast.why?
  35. #35
all of them are very nice
  36. #36
Here is my old engine bay

ahh bring on the CRX/Del Sol
  37. #37
nice mate,as said earlier in post we should do some kind of engine bay competition?
  38. #38
dont know if that would work lol.

recan alot of people would get heart broken if there engine bay lost LOL.
me I could not care less as my engine bay does not exist anymore!

try posting your idea's in the suggestions/improvements section on the site
    see what response you get
  39. #39
that sounds like fighting talk mate.lol
  40. #40
heres mine. looks a bit like a space ship.

  41. #41
wow thats a big tube.wouldnt look too bad if the rocker cover was chrome too.
  42. #42
The easiest way to make an engine bay look nice and is pretty easy is to jut get in there and give it a decent clean and polish. Paint some stuff black and bobs your uncle Been meaning to do it to mine for a while.
I personally think it looks better than a shed load of chrome lol
  43. #43
    haha thats washing machein ducting.

i personaly think that the raceland enclosed filter is good at hiding dirty gearboxes ect
  44. #44
ha ha fair play mate, must be getting enough air.
