2nd alternator

   would i have any problems runnin a 2nd alternator in my 1.1 saxo? i can get a bracket made up for cheap to mount a 2nd just above the standerd alt

   Dont be daft son, what would you need a second alternator for, if it needed 2 it would have been built with 2

   Why do you need it? i`m guessing a split charging system for a powerful speaker set-up.Why dn`t you get the existing 1 uprated or buy a heavy duty battery.

   ^^ yeah bigger batt or a 14v alternator to replace the 12v

   already got a 2nd heavy duty battery thats 1100amp 180ah and 0awg thru the car but it still aint enough ive been looking for an upgraded alt but aint found meny adding the 2nd will be the cheaper/easyer choice

   god what type of system are you running... if it requires that much power you wont need an engine you can use the sub to push you along

   Just take your car to an auto electrician tell him you want the alternator uprated & go from there.

    the 306 TU engine had the alternator mounted at the back of the engine. So in theory you could possibly get away with mounting an alternator at the front and at the back.
    
    but then again i dont own a saxo so dont know how much clearance there is for an alternator at the back.. tis just an idea!

    you cant tune a 1.1 engine so why not.
    
    kinda see the point but id do the same if i didnt have a vtr.
    
    ring up an audio company with a big db drag car and they will probs know someone who can help.

    www.universal-rotating.co.uk give them a call they uprated my alternator for my sound system and second yellow top battary hope this is more helpfull than "why the F**k have you got that going? - pointless tbh...." eveyone to there own! bet it sounds the bolloxs
