wtf?

   im looking at getting a 106 , but there is a fiew prblems.
   
   It has had a 306 1.6 8v ph1 engine put in as the old xsi one went boom. Now the fella that did it didnt get the ecu from the old 306 so the car doesnt run properly. as the samc,head a diff so it just dies.
   
   Now i have been told all it needs is the ecu from a ph1 1.6 8v 306 but would i have issues running the car? ie will the key work ect?
   
   As i will be using the original key.

   where did her get the engine from?
   Got the reciept?
   The place may have the ECU still

   doubt they will dude, why will not any ecu from same type engine work?
   
   they car its self is fine, and the fela selling it is cool

   depends on the setup really, iirc the 306 one was similar to the vtr. the standard xsi loom should run it provided he fitted the xsi inlet etc. If you want to do it properly i think you will need a 306 loom and unlocked ecu or unlocked vtr ecu+loom to match the engine

   Should still run, theres a lad on 106oc who ran a vtr engine on a 1.4 ecu.
   
   Could just be a case of getting the ecu unlocked, or it could be a more suspect problem.

    so what do u thing it could be, i mean i needed a cheap car and this seemed good but it has potential to become a expensive car,

    Will need the ECU unlocking. Know anyone with an unlocked ECU? Try theirs.

    dude what car was it originally? 1.4 or 1.6xsi? if 1.4 just run it off the 1.4 xsi loom and ecu, use the 1.6 injectors and a fpr out of a quiksilver / furio runs at a higher pressure and will help things along like.
    
    Either than or get a 1.6 loom and ecu from a vtr/rallye or xsi
