How to increase BHP on VTR

  1. #1
    Hi everyone,

I've only had my Saxo about 2 months and i don't know too much about them in terms of performance etc. Can anyone recommend any ways to increase the BHP/performance of my VTR?

I've seen them chips on eBay but i'm not too sure about them, would an induction kit help? Recommendations...?

    Thanks,

    Jack

have a good read at the stickies in the engine section and do a search

Look at full exhaust, manifold, enclosed induction.

    cams and remap

also don't ignore brakes and suspension

other option is to buy a VTS or VTS engine to go in the VTR

have a look through the engine and performance section dude...

    plenty of stuff there...

id go along the lines of

enclosed induction kit, manifold, decat, and centre and backbox such as supersprint....

suspension is a good place to start though imo... they handle pretty well standard but with a good suspension set up, you can embarass a lot of cars on the bends...

dependent pon your budget after the above mods you could cam it and map it which would make a little difference and then go into the world of headwork and throttle bodies etc....

all depends on your budget but start with the simple things and see where ya go

please please please do a search

heres the usual list that everyone will tell you

Good air filter (possibly enclosed if you can afford it)
    4-2-1 or 4-1 manifold
    de-cat, exhaust

should be half decent then, will have a noticable difference

if you get bored of that change the cam and get it mapped, but for the money it would cheaper to put a vts engine in and tune that

Add a nice cam to that list. Kent or Piper won't do you wrong. Expensive to fit though!
