can you sound proof a Mk2 VTR cos i found with my old saxo you could here the exhaust and the air filter really bad at like 5000 rev in fifth gear it just echoed through the car any way to make it a bit quiter or is that one of those thing you gotta sacrifice for a nice sounding car???

Well its bound to be noisey from inside the car at 5k revs, your not that far from the limiter then lol

If your on the motorway you must be really pushing it, im usually at around 3500k and mines fine....

You could use dynamat (or equivalent brand) which is bitumen, backed with a piece of material for instance aluminium which is fantastic for sound deadening. If u take off the OE saxo engine bonnet sound deadening, lay some aftermarket sound deadening and the relay the orginal over the top then it will be quieter on the induction noise.

If you strip the interior and lay the stuff under the carpet (incl boot floor) it will reduce alot of roadnoise in addition to the exhaust!

    Good luck

I have soundproofed my vtr using dynamat which i got from the USA on ebay, about half the price of the uk suppliers. It took 2 of the big packs to do the entire car and i even put 2 sheets in the roof which removed a lot of the noise.

It took 2 days overall to do the entire car but its made a big difference to the road and engine noise when driving.
