    - Spare wheel & cage,
    - Fiberglass bonnet,
    - Remove Cat?
    - Lighter alloys & Wheels
    - Remove excess crap, clothes cd cases etc etc..
    - And like you said interior, back seats, parcel shelf, rear speaker covers...
  3. #3
    -perspex or light glass windows.
-wiring looms that are not needed e.g speaker and headunit looms.
    -Sound deadening.

If your going to strip it do it properly with no holds bared, its the only way you will feel even the slightist bit of difference.

anyone wanna tell me what they think the top speed will be if i stript it out and put an indunction kit and 4 2 1 manifold to decat it? iv had 100 out of it as it is ( on private land of course) i kno it wont make much of of a diffrance before anyone says its not worth it etc etc, and i wont be doing it unless i found every thing i need at next to nowt, witch never happens lol,

stripping wont add much to the top end, mainly acceleration

im sure u will get 110 or more mate/ i had 108 with 4 people in my 1.1 and my mate had 115 out of his which was all standard
  8. #8
wont really add much to acceleration either TBH, yeah with the mani decat and induction kit there would be a little difference mainlky handling with a stripped car. Just remeber it will be harder to sell unless you keep the seats, i currently have a stripped out 1.1 with it all stripped light weight alloys but not being funny mate fair play doing a 1.1 up but i saw the light and getting a VTS or starlet as the money you will spend on 1.1 to get it to like 80bhp will be alot

    same as above mate.

the y reg's are slightly lighter anyway

Stripping it out will make it slightly quicker.

At the end of the day its a 1.1 still going to get beat ALOT.

get rear seats out, headliner out, rear wheel off + cage off, carpets out, door cards off, plastic trim on boot off. rear seat belts out, sound deadening out.

Then if still not light enough, cut the passenger bottom half off your dash out, stereo out, speakers out.

Perspex windows incl sunroof, rear wiper off, heat shields off, leather gator off gearstick.

standard seats swap for light weight buckets and harnesses

once you done all that, you will realise its still slow, put it all back in and buy a faster car

save the effort untill you can afford a vtr or vts mate not going to be worth the hassle or money tbh
  12. #12
vtr really good fun car and value for money imo
  13. #13
i aint reli after a vtr, i just wanted to kno if it would make a diffrence then i could just strip it out for summing to do as i dont work atm

1, if you want a indunction kit and 4 2 1 manifold to decat it you need ajob
2, dont hold back take everything, remove all the seats apart from driver seat, maybe try find a lighter seat

Had 115mph+ going down the M1 from J12 to J13.. 115mph+ with the needle like flickering not going any more. i doubt i was probs not doing much more then 115mph. 117mph or what ever max.. Turned cd to next track and engine was super reving.. like doing 50mph in gear 2 it sounded like.

Had 105ish mph with 4 people and half blow exhaust.. not bad

im sorry, but if your talking about your "1,1" as this thread is about i find that the most made up crap i have heard...

108 with 4 people in.. yeah if its down a hill... otherwise no chance..

    and 115 is a lie..

citroen state themselfs the 1.1 is limited to 102mph max speed

so unless yours is a magic saxo then i find it hard to belive unless you got confused and posted stats about your 1.4 or vtr/vts...
  18. #18
i have a 1.4 and the STATED max speed is 109mph buti have had 115 out of it! but 115 out of a 1.1 is a bit of a stretch!

sure you wernt going down a VERY VERY steep hill

imo no point in doing anything to a 1.1 if its your first car and your first year of driving then learn the car and how it drives... it may not be the quickest but you will do the inexperianced drivers who have bigger engines ect... i kno how to drive my saxo and tbh i give my mates zetec s a run for its money!

will make you rear light, lift rear aswel so will need to lower it more so it sticks and dont kick out whenever it wants.
will help with pok, for performance as everyone already suggested. i got de cat for sale which will make good improvement, and alloys which will help handling/grip

not being funny mate but all this talk on manifolds and full exhaust systems and stripping stripping isnt practical as u obviously carry mates, full exhaust is gunna cost 250 - 300 and wont give u much at all, best thing u can do with that few hundred is wack a 1.4 or a 1.6 engine under the bay its your choice weather u declaire it or leave it as a 1.1 on the logbook...

This coming from a previous 1.1 owner mate DONT BOTHER! lol a FULL service and if u know what ur doing clean the injectors and port the throttlebody is gunna cost u all in all bout £60 and u will benifit much better from knowing your engine isnt gunna blow up through lazyness and missuse!

    Theres my opinion anyway
