dimma grill part 2

as i said in my other post i got my dimma grill, ive fitted it and looks ok but doesnt fit spot on.doesnt matter 2 much coz my mates dads respraying it so hes guna sort it out so it fits spot on but just wonderd if this is normal with these grills and has nyone else found this?cheers.

    yes it is normal.

the mesh has to sit between the dimma grill and the grill recess. this causes the grill to sit about 3mm forward of the bonnet, which is a pain.

the only way round this is to use all the pre-drilled holes in the grill and srew them all tightly, which will then bring it closer together.

also, try and have the mesh cut as small as possible, but not so small that it will fall through the grill. obviously the bigger you have the mesh, the more difficulty you will have in trying to obtain a flush fit.

nice one cheers mate, guna leave it in till ma mates dad resprays it in 2weeks coz dont look to bad but will get him to properly sort it out.what ya think at the mo,apart from dif.colour.

    yes it looks tidy mate

how do you gain access to the bonnet catch atm!?!

before your mates dad re-sprays it, have you ever thought about smoothing the grill into the bonnet!?! this way it would get rid of the lines around the grill and would therefore look like the dimma grill and bonnet is all in one. that is something im probably going to doing.

yeah thought about that, guna find out how much, bit short on cash at the mo coz holiday in a few weeks.to get access to the bonnet catch i just cut a bit of the mesh, not a lot, just enuff to get a finger in,dont like on peoples when you can see the whole theyv cut, plus mines got black mesh which hides it slightly.cheers for ya help mate.

i just got my local bodyshop to cut out the slates in the origional grill as ive heard alot of problems with the dimma grills

yeh if you make a cut out in the mesh, as long as its a good, tidy job, then you have no problems. some people rush it and therefore mess it up.
