    removing gearbox today and i cant get the mechanism off the balljoints any ideas how to prise them off ?

    Put an open ended spanner between the links and push then it will split the links.

    or just use plyers bend to an angle and pull thats how i did it

    Mole grips or pliers will do the trick or even a flat blade screwdriver!
