piper exhaust connections.....

    im going to fit my piper exhaust this weekend that i bought a few weeks back.....


    anyways, ive noticed that its like a female to female coupling

    now a nickT borrowed it for his mot, and he said it was blowing a gooden (he whack a shed load of putty on)....

    i dont really wanna do that.

    so have i got a problem with my exhaust?

    or any solutions.

    should have like a fire ring that fits inside both of the female conectors and a clamp round it

    from the centre section to back-box and decat to centre section?

    where could i get these fire rings?

    yeah from the back box to teh centre section. Any local exhaust fitters should have, like kwik fit for example.

    Although never used a decat pipe, usually jus ta fully system to decat, although the one that was on my car when I got it didn't have female to female, it just fitted in. But if it's female to female it should be the same, as the fire ring kind of acts as the male for both sides to give you a idea.

    yeah thats the one for the mani. not sure if it's the same size for the back box, and like I said never used on on a decat before, although if it's manifold to decat that one will be fine.

    But yeah I don't like them much but have to get a crackin though!

    probs just ring piper up and see if they'll send me them....

    or as you said take it to an exhaust gaff....
