#2Depends if he tells the MOT tester about it, otherwise it will probably fail on emissions, or only just scrape through
-
#3would the mot tester create a stink about it , is it just better to come clean and have it documented as a 1.4 or 1.6 depending on engine I can get also if for instance it had a 1.6 in it would that be the same as vtr insuranceQuote:Depends if he tells the MOT tester about it, otherwise it will probably fail on emissions, or only just scrape through

#4Dunno man, lol when i had mine tested it should of failed on the emissions but i knew they guy so he let me off. But yeah if you declared it the insurance would be the same as the engine thats been put in it

#6If the MOT tester looks at the engine number like they should then it will fail too. But saying that very few MOT tester ever does as they tend to just read it off the vin.
Its a little harder with a 1.6 in a 1.1 than a 1.4 in there. Many 1.4s look a lot like many of the 1.1s. Not all but most of them do. Where as all the 1.6s look totally different than all the 1.1s. For instance one is made out of iron and one is made out of alloy. There are many other differences too.
I would recommend declaring all mods on the log book and insurance. Firstly because you legally have to and secondly if you don't your not inshured -
#7my 1.4 looks like another vtr engine

#9The Citroen AX GTI 1.4 and Peugeot 106 XSI 1.4 look like some of the early 8V 1.6s yes. Most of the other 1.4s have totally difference engine block, cylinder head, sump, inlet manifold, throttle body, fuel injection system and so. Come to think of it some do have the same rocker cover I guess that could throw some people?

#11tell your "friend"
to do the job properly and plant a vts lump in there, sure the insurance is a stinger, worth it though imo

#14Is it really worth the difference on your insurance? If you crash and claim on your insurance, you'll get busted for no insurance and have to pay for the damages!
