Brown plug from loom

    Bit more info may help.


    Is it the brown plug in the engine bay, behind the dash, behind the rear 3/4 panel, at the boot?

    How many wires does it have going into it?

    Can you read one of the ID numbers off of the wiring?

    possibly the brown plug that plugs onto the carbon cannister under the drivers side wing,just take your inside wheel arch out, and you'll see it under there.

    Identfying what part of the loom its on would be a good start

    sorry for lateness... got a pic of it there,
    its for a gti as ive just a engine change, its from near the tb
    its a 2pin plug

    Could be loads of things :?

    TPS and MAP sensors are 3 plug, so is the Vehicle speed sensor. Reverse light connector is white. Coolant temp is blue or green connector.

    Have you got the following connected;

    Knock Sensor, Manifold Heater, Air Temp Sensor.


    Best bet is to peel back some of the tape on the wires and get the number off one of the wires, then tape it back up afterwards.

    im puting the engine in with dan. its from somewhere near the inlet manifold. (ie round the back of it.) its no where to be seen.

    any1 heard of flames and smoke comin out inlet manifold when trying to start?

    figured it out gav, its not needed as its for the air con models in differant countrys
